The founder of DTW, Diana McCray, used dancing as a powerful metaphor to begin making the changes she wanted to see. For her, the most enjoyable time of her life is when she is dancing. She never enjoyed exercise but always loved to dance and experienced remarkable energy and joy from even 5 minutes of dancing in her own time and rhythm. Dancing became her metaphor for moving forward one step at a time, in every dimension of life: self-responsibility & love, breathing, sensing, eating, moving, feeling, thinking, playing and working, communicating, intimacy, finding meaning and transcending.
